“MEPI WINDING DOWN”

The Medical Education Partnership Initiative was a 5 year program launched in September 2010 and was implemented through to August 2015. ACHEST, as part of the CC, was actively involved in coordinating school activities as well as providing technical assistance in health professions education. All the grantee schools have been granted one year of no cost extension up to August 2016 in which to accomplish planned and ongoing activities. The coordinating center was granted three months of no cost extension to compile MEPI at year 5 report. The activities of MEPI during the no cost extension period will continue under the expanded PI Council chaired by Miliard  Derbew from Addis Ababa University. ACHEST has been requested to serve as a secretariat during this period.
